Troubleshoot

This article is to help user to troubleshoot their own CO2 laser cutter like 3020, 4040, 4060, 6090, 1080, 1390 40-150W non-metal cut laser cutting / engraving machine..
Different manufacturer might be different machine structure.

Machine Can’t Turn On (No power at all)
1. Check Plug & switch (e-stop button or on/off switch.)

2. Check fuse at black color ac plug socket (behind your machine).

No Laser

Open laser tube cover (at behind of machine), set 50%-90% laser current & press “pulse/test/laser” button from your machine control panel, and check is the a light from laser tube.

No Laser (laser tube no light at all)

Check laser power supply, make sure the fan inside the power supply is turning.
If no AC current or Laser Power Supply spoil, the fan will not turning.
If your machine comes with water flow sensor, check water pipe (water flow too slow will stop laser) & water sensor.

Unplug signal pin & press “red/test” button in laser power supply.

If laser comes out after unplug signal pin, most probably water flow sensor issue or short circuit due to red dot pointer.

For water flow sensor, you can simply by-pass it by connecting P to G in laser power supply.

If still no laser after press red button in laser power supply, probably laser power supply or laser tube spoil. You can verify this by unplug red (+) positive laser wire and short the wire to machine casing (wear rubber glove to avoid high voltage).
If current comes out from laser power supply, that means laser tube spoil.
Else, laser power supply spoil. (No current when press red test button in power supply)

No Laser come out from nozzle (but laser tube got light)
Laser Power Weak

Check Alignment (refer to youtube video) & clean mirror/lens (inside the nozzle).

If alignment is ok & mirror is clean, test directly from laser tube & still no fire. That means laser tube is spoil. Replace a laser tube should solve the problem.
To check laser tube power, you can set 20% and 80% laser power, and test directly from laser tube. If no different (same weak power) by increasing laser power, then the laser tube lifetime is over.

Cutting not accurate
If first time setting up the machine, probably step length is not accurate. (ask your supplier to set the step length).
Check timing belt & mirror/lens (too loose).
Check bearing & rail. If you’re cutting PVC, it will cause rail to rust. Try clean it using WD40.
If problem still exist (rail jam), then you need to change the rail & bearing.

Cutting line not straight.
This probably due to vibration of focus lens inside nozzle. try open & tighten it.
Check air assist. (too high pressure / water droplets)
