3020-40W Laser Cutter Settings

Actual results may vary depending on the material quality, laser-tube condition, mirror alignment, lens cleanliness, focus and air assist. Always test a small sample before production.

Engraving Settings

Recommended engraving speed for most materials:

MaterialSpeedPower
Plywood300 mm/s20–35%
Acrylic300 mm/s15–30%
Natural leather300 mm/s20–35%
Laser rubber100 mm/s40–60%

For darker or deeper engraving, increase the power gradually while keeping the speed at 300 mm/s.

Plywood Cutting Settings

Use air assist when cutting plywood.

ThicknessSpeedPowerPasses
1 mm20 mm/s50%1
2 mm10 mm/s50%1
3 mm7 mm/s65%1
4 mm2 mm/s75%1–2
5 mm1 mm/s80%1–2

Plywood cutting performance may vary because of wood density, moisture and glue content.

Acrylic Cutting Settings

These settings are suitable for standard cast or extruded acrylic.

ThicknessSpeedPowerPasses
1 mm20 mm/s50%1
2 mm10 mm/s50%1
3 mm7 mm/s65%1
4 mm3 mm/s75%1
5 mm2 mm/s80%1–2

For a smoother acrylic edge, use the fastest speed that can cut completely through the material.

Natural Leather Cutting Settings

Only use genuine leather or synthetic leather confirmed to be laser-safe. Do not process PVC leather.

ThicknessSpeedPowerPasses
1 mm20 mm/s40%1
2 mm10 mm/s40%1
3 mm7 mm/s40%1
4 mm5 mm/s60%1
5 mm3 mm/s70%1–2

Use a strong exhaust system because leather produces smoke and odour.

Laser Rubber Cutting Settings

Use only rubber specifically manufactured for laser engraving and stamp making.

ThicknessSpeedPowerPasses
1 mm20 mm/s70%1
2 mm10 mm/s70%1
3 mm7 mm/s70%1
4 mm4 mm/s70%1
5 mm2 mm/s80%1–2

For rubber-stamp engraving, mirror the artwork before processing.
