The following settings are starting references for the Ezlaser 3020-40W CO₂ Laser Cutter using K40 Whisperer software.

Actual results may vary depending on the material quality, laser-tube condition, mirror alignment, lens cleanliness, focus and air assist. Always test a small sample before production.
Engraving Settings
Recommended engraving speed for most materials:
| Material | Speed | Power |
|---|---|---|
| Plywood | 300 mm/s | 20–35% |
| Acrylic | 300 mm/s | 15–30% |
| Natural leather | 300 mm/s | 20–35% |
| Laser rubber | 100 mm/s | 40–60% |
For darker or deeper engraving, increase the power gradually while keeping the speed at 300 mm/s.
Plywood Cutting Settings
Use air assist when cutting plywood.
| Thickness | Speed | Power | Passes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 mm | 20 mm/s | 50% | 1 |
| 2 mm | 10 mm/s | 50% | 1 |
| 3 mm | 7 mm/s | 65% | 1 |
| 4 mm | 2 mm/s | 75% | 1–2 |
| 5 mm | 1 mm/s | 80% | 1–2 |
Plywood cutting performance may vary because of wood density, moisture and glue content.
Acrylic Cutting Settings
These settings are suitable for standard cast or extruded acrylic.
| Thickness | Speed | Power | Passes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 mm | 20 mm/s | 50% | 1 |
| 2 mm | 10 mm/s | 50% | 1 |
| 3 mm | 7 mm/s | 65% | 1 |
| 4 mm | 3 mm/s | 75% | 1 |
| 5 mm | 2 mm/s | 80% | 1–2 |
For a smoother acrylic edge, use the fastest speed that can cut completely through the material.
Natural Leather Cutting Settings
Only use genuine leather or synthetic leather confirmed to be laser-safe. Do not process PVC leather.
| Thickness | Speed | Power | Passes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 mm | 20 mm/s | 40% | 1 |
| 2 mm | 10 mm/s | 40% | 1 |
| 3 mm | 7 mm/s | 40% | 1 |
| 4 mm | 5 mm/s | 60% | 1 |
| 5 mm | 3 mm/s | 70% | 1–2 |
Use a strong exhaust system because leather produces smoke and odour.
Laser Rubber Cutting Settings
Use only rubber specifically manufactured for laser engraving and stamp making.
| Thickness | Speed | Power | Passes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 mm | 20 mm/s | 70% | 1 |
| 2 mm | 10 mm/s | 70% | 1 |
| 3 mm | 7 mm/s | 70% | 1 |
| 4 mm | 4 mm/s | 70% | 1 |
| 5 mm | 2 mm/s | 80% | 1–2 |
For rubber-stamp engraving, mirror the artwork before processing.
